In recent years his work has migrated into consultant/advisory or Medico-legal reporting roles, voluntary duties as Qld State Councillor for his Faculty (2001-2005), and participation as a Member/Deputy-Chairperson of the General Medical Assessment Tribunal (GMAT) organised via Q-COMP; and he is also a Member of the Health Advisory Assessment Panel for the Qld Nursing Council.  His forensic area of interest is work-fitness/unfitness in relation to physical and/or mental impairment.

Occupational Physicians bring recognised expertise to the assessment of work-related injury and illness and the effects of illness and injury on the ability to work.   Occupational Physicians have academic and clinical expertise in the assessment of medical impairment that is they assess individuals in a number of medical speciality areas simultaneously and are able to apportion relative work-relatedness etc.   Because of their practical everyday contact with workplaces, they are especially skilled in the assessment of consequent disability and handicap.   They also provide worksite assessments as part of the review where indicated.
